Your adventure begins as you arrive in Sonamarg, the enchanting "Meadow of Gold" nestled in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. This picturesque town serves as the starting point for the Kashmir Great Lakes trek. Take some time to rest and acclimate to the altitude, surrounded by stunning vistas of snow-capped mountains. Explore the beautiful surroundings, wander through the local market, and immerse yourself in the tranquil ambience of this incredible destination.

After having breakfast, you will begin your trek from Sonamarg to Nichnai. The trail will take you through scenic meadows, dense forests, and small streams. The initial part of the trek involves a gradual ascent, and then you will pass through the Shekdur village. As you continue your journey, you will witness the breathtaking views of the Kashmir Valley and the surrounding peaks. Finally, you will reach Nichnai, a beautiful camping site nestled amidst lush green meadows.

On day 3, you will trek from Nichnai to Vishansar Lake, crossing the Nachnai Pass. The trail offers stunning views of the valleys, snow-clad peaks, and cascading waterfalls. The trek involves a steep climb to reach the Nachnai Pass. From the pass, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. After descending from the pass, you will reach the enchanting Vishansar Lake, known for its crystal clear waters and picturesque setting. You will camp near the lake for the night.

After breakfast, you will continue your trek from Vishansar Lake to Gadsar, crossing the Gadsar Pass. The trail will take you through meadows dotted with vibrant wildflowers and rocky terrains. You will ascend towards the Gadsar Pass, located at an altitude of approximately 4,250 meters. From the pass, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Gadsar Lake and the surrounding snow-covered peaks. As you descend from the pass you will reach the Gadsar Lake, a stunning high-altitude lake surrounded by picturesque landscapes. You will set up camp near the lake for the night.

On day 5, you will trek from Gadsar to Satsar. The trail will take you through lush green meadows, alpine forests, and scenic valleys. As you proceed, you will pass by a series of seven beautiful lakes known as the Satsar Lakes. These lakes are nestled amidst the mountains and surrounded by meadows. You will have the opportunity to camp near one of these lakes and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

After breakfast, you will embark on a trek from Satsar to the Gangabal Twin Lakes, crossing the Zaj Pass. The trail involves a steep ascent towards the Zaj Pass, located at an altitude of approximately 3,600 meters. From the pass, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and the Gangabal Lakes. Descending from the pass, you will reach the twin lakes of Gangabal, situated at the foothills of Mount Haramukh. The lakes are known for their pristine blue waters and picturesque surroundings. You will camp near the lakes for the night.

From Naranag, you will take a scenic drive back to Srinagar, where you can relax and explore the vibrant city.
